The year 2020
I’ve been thinking about the year 2020. We all remembered so much that year. The importance of community, of mutual aid, of seeing ourselves as part of a larger whole.
I feel like so quickly we've forgotten—or maybe I’m projecting because I feel as if I’m forgetting.
I miss those sweet simple days when we just had time to cook and to garden and to talk with our neighbors as they walked by. The novelty of social interaction.
What a gift to see a smiling face, unmasked and vibrant. What a gift to see Nature flourish when we stopped filling her lungs with smog and smoke.
She got a break. We all did.
There was truth in that destruction—maybe we can come back to it.
